She's got 10 of these houses. I wonder if she's collecting rent on them?

My dad was a real estate broker, probably rolling over in his grave over how low this profession is going, and I don't mean the market. People really don't give an "F" about their reputation. Everyone that dealt w/my dad loved him. No BS guy. Few are reputable today. This lady and many of the other realtors on BMIT's blog really bring down their profession to new lows. Talk about giving realtors a bad name. I say we have towns do hangings in squares again. ;)

When fighting for survival (even if it's just financial survival), most humans toss morals out the window. Sad, but true.

There have been dishonest realtors since the days of selling swampland in Florida 100 years ago.

In the 1970s, my dad made an offer to the seller's realtor on a house that had been on the market over 6 months. A week or two later, no response. So he called the seller directly and asked why they didn't accept the offer. The seller said they never GOT the offer, and yes they would accept my father's terms immediately (they had already moved and were tired of paying two mortgages). My pop still lives in that house today.

Turns out the seller's realtor had found someone else who would buy that house once they sold theirs - which was also listed with him. He was apparently holding out for getting a commission on two homes, not just one.

Disgusting.

I guess you are right. Swamp land in Florida. How soon I forget. Naive of me to expect some integrity. I guess the way I was raised.

she should be in jail right now, if the gov't didn't have their head up their ass.

Why don't used car salesmen drive four doors?

They don't want to look like Real Estate Agents.

My neighbor was in a similar situation. She speculatively bought 10+ properties, most of them downtown condos. She was renting mostly to relatives at a loss. She was making so much in real estate sales at the top of the market, that she could handle the loss and was flipping her inventory. Now she is losing everything and looking for another line of work. I agree with the sad state of affairs of the profession. I think the banks seem to prefer to have the homes occupied rather than deal with brown lawns and vandalism. Once there are more real estate corrections and the houses begin to sell, I am sure the banks will become more aggressive about moving out the previous owners.
