Bravo Palin!!! Palin last night... "Let's do what our parents told us before we probably even got that first credit card. Don't live outside of our means. We need to make sure that as individuals we're taking personal responsibility through all of this." music to my ears.

Brovo Palin!!!
Yes, and I have no doubt she would also spell "Bravo" the same way you spelled it, in a folksy, hockey-mom kind of way.
Gosh dern it: she's just the kind a lady I want a step away from becoming the President!

I thought she was good ST, a lot better then your recent stock call.
Living beyond your means?
You mean like cutting taxes and then borrowing money to wage an unnecessary war?
stockstradr,
thanks for pointing out the spelling error.
you should stick to proof reading, your much better at exploiting spelling errors than a "suckers rally"
Big deal the speech writer knows what people want to here. Gee, millions losing their homes, economic catastrophe, how did he/she ever come up with that one.
The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can "throw the rascals out" at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy.

"The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, pull back the curtains, and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater."

Corrupted by wealth and power, your government is like a restaurant with only one dish. They've got a set of Republican waiters on one side and a set of Democratic waiters on the other side. But no matter which set of waiters brings you the dish, the legislative grub is all prepared in the same Wall Street kitchen.

Bravo Palin!!!
Here’s a clue.
Your folksy Republican candidates are NINE POINTS behind in the national polls.
Bravo for THAT!
If you want the McCain/Hockey Mom ticket to have any chance come November 4th, you had better be praying for long-shot Plan B; that is, Obama suddenly announces he's related to Osama (bin Laden), who he’s replacing Biden with as his running mate.
Come that, then maybe your folksy Repulican duo might stand a chance.
Yeah, uppity liberals think she is a hick. Maybe should have say stuff like "Dude" or "Pleezze" or "Hellloooooo" or "See ya bitches".
She beat the hell out of Bumblin' Joe. She either forced him into lying or taking a untenable position. His comment about how the war has been won his Hezbollah was a major gaff. His comment about going in Katie's restaurant was a lie. Its been closed for years.
Her last comment may come true too. If we elect obama to the White House people today will be telling their grand kids how free and great America use to be.
Joe is a good guy though because by the end of the debate he wished he could vote for her.
For those so called "Progressives" (sounds so comforting) here is the list of lies, gaffs Joe committed last nite.

Has anyone noticed something strange about the way she speaks? I can't place my finger on it.
I thought she was good ST, a lot better then your recent stock call.
LOL
I noticed it. It seemed to have an American Indian twang to it. Probably from the Eskimo populations. She is 1/16 or so Native American.

She's got a classic Minnesota/WI/Canadian/Alaskan kinda accent.
All my extended family is from Minnesota. They all have accents like Palin's....."yaaah, Yoooo beTCHa"
Palin is right out of the movie "Fargo" only Palin is akin to Jean Lundegaard, the ditsy-folksy halfwit wife of Jerry Lundegaard.

Why is it that I have to work so hard to figure out what she is trying to say? Are her writers that bad?
Try reading Palin's answers without the visual, it is virtually impossible. Sounds like a incoherent robotic data dump from the kid who crammed for the book report but didn't actually read and/or understand the book. Reminded me a lot of this other beauty queen:

If you take away her mesmerizing looks, glare, smile, and *wink*, there is nothing left.
no
it is either that she does not understand the content or she is actually transmitting some kind of subliminal message that some people (non zombie like people) are able to filter out.
same goes for all of the candidates.
You remember the Magic 8 Ball. You ask it a question, shake it, then git your answer.

Here is the Sarah Palin Magic 8 Ball:

It really works. Someone did a lot of programming to code all those words to the videos.
Try entering words like:
Russia
Economy
Abortion
Hockey Mom
LOL
I put in "aliens" and got the footage of her shooting

This whole Palin "thing" is so surreal I can't shake the feeling that it's a dream. I mean, I remember going to bed last night, then waking up and going to work and coming home, so I know I'm not actually dreaming. But when I really focus on it, it's like something out of a story. Weird.
Maybe she is a cyborg built by Republican scientists.
All of Palin's answers were canned and lacked any substance. It was sad, really. At the very least, some of the analysis of her debate strategy was worth a good laugh:

lol.. if you take away Obama's smooth talking,
"I'm the messiah" style, and nutty celebrity endorsements... there's nothing left

Maybe if you're deaf, dumb, and blind, sure. -=D
I can see your confusion.. but the only thing worse is that most Americans at this point, support a rookie senator with no accomplishments who was judged to be the most liberal senator on 2007..
http://nj.nationaljournal.com/voteratings/
Combine his lack of experience with his horrible policy and lousy friends... and I too think its something out of a bad story. Weird, I agree.
Alarmclock.. talk about bad dreams.. The sad thing is that some day soon, I'm gonna wake up in some foreign place with the same longitude and latitude as the USA we know today.. except the country will resemble something in between China and France. Today was a milestone (bailout bill) towards socializing America, and Obama taking office could be the final nail in the coffin. When he talks about change, I believe him.. and it scares the crap out of me. A country just can't recover from a massive enlargement of government. Those additions will be permanent.
NOBAMA 2008
.. keep the change.
Misspelling while criticizing misspelling: classic. Or were you spelling that in a redneck, cable guy kinda way?

HippMatt, Good post.

I'm an Independent, however, this Palin pick has me believing that somehow we've all been transported into an episode to "Fantasy Island".
hipmatt, I usually stay away from political commentary because too many people already spend too much time in political debate, in my view. But you are an intelligent person, so I will just interject to say that professional Republicans and Democrats appear to be united in their goal of expanding government, to provide short-term benefits for their most vocal or powerful constituencies.
Those constituencies are different, but instead of that difference acting as a harness around their delivery of more govt for the interests they represent, it simply leads to laws that spend most of what the money one side wants as long as the other side gets to spend most of what they want too. Just look at how the political class modified the 700bn spending bill that was rejected at first: they added another 150bn in spending. That was what the professional political class calculated was most likely to turn their fellow pols. And it worked.
One thing you should all remember about politicians.
Talk is CHEAP!
